The History of Robbins Farm Equipment
Denzil Robbins has been in the farm equipment industry since 1970, starting at a
Case and Hesston dealer as a service technician.
In 1976 he went to work for the local John Deere dealer as a service technician,
shortly after, he became their service manager, until the closing of the dealership in
1983.
In September of 1983, Denzil opened his own repair shop under the name Robbins'
Repair, repairing most any type of farm equipment for customers around Baker
County.
In December 1985, the local Hesston and Case dealer went out of business due to
hard economic times. After the closing of the dealership, Denzil took on the Hesston
line, becoming a full service dealership, selling Fiatagri - Hesston tractors and
Hesston hay equipment.
In early 1986, Denzil purchased an old machine shop as the base for his new Hesston
dealership.
In 1991, Hesston Corporation was purchased by an up and coming company known
as AGCO. At this time, we took on the White and Massey Ferguson tractor lines, as
well as retaining the Hesston Hay Equipment line.
In 1997, our second store was opened under the name of Robbins Equipment II in
Enterprise, Oregon. This store is a full service Hesston dealership, and in early 2007
they acquired the Massey Ferguson line.
In 2001, our third store was opened, Robbins Equipment III in Burns, Oregon.
Starting in a small parts store, and doing all the repairs in the field. During the
2001-02 winter, we rented a small one bay shop to do our repairs in. During the
spring of 2002, we packed up and moved to our recent location on Egan St., a
location with a parts room and a five bay shop.
Over the last twenty four years, we have gone from a small repair shop to one of the
top fifteen AGCO dealers in North America. We have received many awards over the
years, such as:
The Hesston Presidents Club - 1990, and 1991
Top Volume Dealers of North America - 1994, 1998, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004,
2005, and 2006
AGCO Finance Million Dollar Club - 2003, 2004, 2005, and 2006 - each time
financing over $3 million
AGCO's Circle of Excellence- 2000, 2006
